DIMENSIONS

First of all remember this: “not always the smaller the ramp is the easier to skate on”. People usually take this as a fact, and in this way prefer a smaller ramp such as a 3’ halfpipe. These kinds of ramps are good for short tie, because you can get bored at the time as you get more skilful. These two ramps are perfect to start with, besides aren’t hard to build. We highly recommend you not going shy and build a 5’ or 6’ halfpipe.

DECIDE

Before you decide building a ramp, you must consider your skating skills. None of this ramps request building or constructing skills, you just need to follow the instructions correctly. The 5’ halfpipe is easier to skate on, but personally I prefer the 6’ halfpipe because is faster and can lift you higher.

SURFACE

One of the most important parts of a ramp is the surface, in some cases it represents the 50% of the ramps cost. We usually use Masonite, but there are other materials that may conserve your ramp’s surface in better conditions. Just check our Links for alternative materials. Anyway the ramp plans give you some tips on how to maintain the surface in optimized conditions.
